Carroll first talks about the city's "Stash Your Trash" campaign to design stickers for trash bins. Cute, but what about all the other, bigger problems, such as water main breaks, sewage spills and leaks from trash trucks. Then, there are simple things like the beach showers in Waikiki. The showers are not connected to sewer lines,
but depend on sand trap / dry well collection areas underneath the showers to contain the wastewater. Carroll tells us the beach showers have not been cleaned for years so wastewater containing soap, sunscreen, and who knows what, is freely flowing into the ocean. People walk in the waste and children play in it. The Hawaii Department of Health documented violations in 2012, but not much has been done to correct the situation.
These, and other kittens like them, are looking for a home. Ages range from 3 to 12 months.
They have been neutered or spayed, and they are litter box trained. Now, all they need is your love. Who can resist a new kitten?
