GRAVEL GATE
Road and Highway Builders, LLC, has a contract to fix the roads on Oahu over the next few years, but will they do a good job? As demonstrated by their recent activity, the answer may be "NO".
Road and Highway Builders imports and stockpiles tons of gravel through the harbor at Barber's Point. Sources reporting to us allege that they are overloading their trucks, then bypassing the state weigh station by sneaking through locked gates on property leased from the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. To do so, they are subleasing from a company named Pasha Commercial Storage that has a lease with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. It is reported Road and Highway Builders, and other trucking companies, were given keys to the gate by Pasha and permission to use the road.
When heavy trucks travel across the island, they cause stress to the pavement on our roadways. One of the reasons we have so many bad roads is overloaded trucks that have been allowed to bypass the weigh station by taking advantage of the opportunity to travel through this gate that is located on DHHL land.
Not only that, the trucks are unsafe and may cause major accidents.
Today Carroll lays out the facts about corruption and the people, agencies, companies and politicians involved.
