Carroll's guests are Dr. Judy Carman and Dr. Stephanie Seneff.  They discuss concerns with genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in our food.  Judy  has been studying the effect of GMOs on pigs.   She says she lost her job due to big GMO companies "hounding her".    Dr. Seneff is a senior scientist at MIT.  She is concerned about the increase in the autism rate and other health problems in our children.   She is studying environmental factors.

After years of research, Dr. Carman and Dr. Seneff are very concerned about GMOs effect on human health.   Their  conclusion is, "There is an urgent need for the full labeling of GM foods, comprehensive safety testing by independent researchers of all GM foods currently in the marketplace and of all subsequent GM foods before they enter the marketplace."

Some food items that may contain GMOs are soy and products such as soy milk, corn and products with cornstarch,  corn chips, canola oil, and  alfalfa feed for cows that may affect milk.

        Dr. Carman's website is  gmojudycarman.org

Carroll recently broke the story about toxic materials from renovations at Radford High School being illegally dumped in Kapolei, Kapaa Quary, and a homesite in Haiku Village, Kaneohe.  The state Department of Health  fined the trucking companies that transported the contaminated dirt under contract,  over one million dollars.  The story first aired on KGMB, with follow-up by other stations and the Star Advertiser.  Carroll says the Navy and the Department of Educatation are responsible and should be fined, not the truckers.

Carroll's music today is by Kimberly June.  She writes and plays her own songs, and lives here in Hawaii.  Her website is  kimberlyjunemusic.com

Carroll would also like you to know about the Coxless Crew, the first four female crew to row across the Pacific Ocean.  They are rowing to support women with breast cancer and other life changing events.   They left California in April, and just arrived in Hawaii.  They will be leaving for Samoa on Tuesday, July 28, and will end their journey in Australia.  The crew is asking for donations to support their charities.  Visit their website to learn more and make a donation at coxlesscrew.com
