In honor of Black History Month, Carroll talks about civil rights for all people in Hawaii. He plays music and stories told by Hawaiian musician Clyde Sproat to illustrate the importance of native hawaiian culture and our environment. Governor Abercrombie refers to the Hawaiians as the host culture, but is his administration, and the state legislature, respecting the host/guest relationship?
Does our government care? Do organizations formed to protect the Hawaiian people care? Looking at all the homeless, illegal dumping, mistreatment, corruption
and trash around us, we wonder if the people even care. How many people are getting things at the expense of others? Let's talk about it!
.
A big question is, why there are so many boarded up houses on Hawaiian Home Lands when there is a long list of people waiting for homes. See more pictures here.
