THE CARROLL COX SHOW  :  1080 AM

PODCAST

    SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 2010

Lyla B. Berg, Representative for the18th District and candidate for Lt. Governor, is back to talk about various bills before the legislature including HB1665 preventing the sales of fishponds, and SB2646 regarding surfing reserves and designated competitive reserve areas.  We need to preserve our ocean access, open space, agricultural and cultural lands, not give them away to the highest bidder.

Also of major concern are two bills introduced by Senator Hee ---SB1311 transfering DLNR resources to UH Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology (allowing activity without permits and oversight) and SB2200 giving 54% of DLNR's Aquatics Division budget to the Hawaii Instutue of Marine Biology.  We would like to know, why is Senator Hee trying to gut DLNR?

The deadline is midnight, Friday April 23.  Call your legislators now!
