THE CARROLL COX SHOW  :  1080 AM

PODCAST

    SUNDAY, APRIL 11, 2010

Today's guest is Marti Townsend of Kahea, The Hawaiian-Environmental Alliance,  dedicated to protecting Hawaiian culture and environment, including taro,  monk seals, shoreline and public access, and the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. Visit their website at www.kahea.org

Marti discusses coral protection.  Researchers sampling coral using an open system of recycling water between coral storage tanks and the ocean led to contamination of the coral in other areas ocean from diseased coral in the tanks.  They were cited in 2006.  What happened after that ?!    Is research sufficiently regulated and enforced?

What's hiding in the weeds at Kuuloa Ranch?

Did DLNR Land Board member John Morgan give permission to Navatek and military contractors to unlawfully run this vehicle into Kaneohe Bay with no permits or EIS? When I called the land Division to file a complaint, I was discouraged from doing so with the message:  "This was John Morgan" and not to cause trouble for the big man.  Maybe we should call this "The mini superferry"!
