    This week Carroll discusses trash and politics in Hawaii.   Of special concern is the "Waikele Caves", a canyon area next to Waikele that is zoned for and could be used as a beautiful recreation area.  Unfortunately it is now filled up with industrial storage areas and businesses trashing up the landscape.  (More Info)
  • See pictures of trash stacking up  in Campbell Industrial Park,  waiting to be shipped out but held up due to poor planning.  (Is this becoming standard operational procedure in Hawaii?).

    We would like to remind you, the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade is Monday, 1/18/10, starting at 9 AM, in Waikiki.   Be sure to get there early, before the streets are closed. Also, a Unity Rally will be held at Kapiolani Bandstand immediately after the parade -  approximatley 11:00 AM - including food, drink, live entertainment and celebration!
