THE HAWAIAN HUMANE SOCIETY'S
UNETHICAL TREATMENT OF
ANIMAL HAVEN

This is Animal Haven's kennels -
large and clean homes for abandoned and hurting dogs

In 1992 Animal Haven, Inc. was established as a no-kill pet rescue sactuary.  In July, 2009, Bonnie Pang, owner of Animal Haven, passed away.  Her husband, Norman Pang, unable to care for the animals, contacted the Oahu Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) for help.     OSPCA then contacted the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) for additional help.

While on the property to care for the animals, HSUS asked Mr. Pang if they could photograph and videotape their actions to  use as a training video.  They told Mr. Pang that the video would  be used for no other purpose.  Unfortunately, the Hawaiian Humane Society (HHS), got involved and wants to prosecute Mr. Pang.  They posted the HSUS video on their website as an example of cruelty to animals, and banned Jennifer Kishimori from ever using the HHS facilities again.

In the attached letter, Mr. Pang's attorney is questioning the practices of the Hawaiian Humane Society and HSUS.  The tactics they used to sureptitiously document Mr. Pang's property, without a search warrant,  is unethical and "backstabbing".

On August 23, 2009, Jennifer Kishimori, OSPCA, was a guest on The Carroll Cox Show,  where she and Pam Davis, President of Animal Advocates, Inc, talked about this and other issues with the Hawaiian Humane Society.

On Sunday, September 6, there will be a memorial for Bonnie Pang (more info)

Dogs at Animal Haven receive toys and treats, and are treated for fleas:

This is a cat feeding station.  It is elevated so chickens and other animals will not eat the cat food.

The orange barrier and pet carriers around the stations were placed there by HSUS.
