TRASH ON FARRINGTON HWY STILL THERE IN SPITE OF COMPLAINTS
What if we were to tell you that this gang of six can’t fix
a minor trash problem blighting the beautiful Western Coastal Communities on
the Island of Oahu, Hawaii?
Believe it or not, for several months numerous citizen complaints were made
regarding the illegal dumping and piling of this
trash along Farrington, by government workers. The complaints, made to Legislators, Karen Awana and Maile
Shimabukuro, Governor Linda Lingle, Mayor
Hannemann, State Senator (Senate President) Collen Hannabusa, and City Councilman (Chairman) Todd Apo, have gone
unanswered.
Some of the trash pictures were taken in July 2009 and some on December
11, 2009. The complainants told
us they were either ignored, told "the ownership of the land is not known",
or "they will pick the trash up when the next community cleanup is
scheduled".
Meanwhile rats, feral dogs and cats, and mongoose are feeding
and scattering the waste over a larger area.
What are the tourist thinking as they drive past this mess?
The first three pictures were taken December 11. This pictures was taken July 23, 2009. When will this problem be resolved?
