There is a big debate about the federal government's introduction of monk seals into the main Hawaiian Islands. Some people feel the monk seals are responsible for the decline of our fish population.
Our concern is that we, as fishermen, divers, boaters, surfers, and other users of the ocean, are not owning up to our own responsibilty in the decline of fish. We would like to remind you what our role is in the whole scheme of things, particularly in our tendency to pollute and illegally dump contaminates and other waste into our waterways, streams and coastal areas.
We have produced a series of photos to illustrate this, in hopes it will stimulate a debate that will garnish a solution.
