POAMOHO FIRE INVESTIGATED

On September 16, 2010, the Honolulu Fire Department responded to a brush fire that came close to homes in the Poamoho residentail area.  According to HFD's Public Information Officer, Captain Terry Sieleg, the HFD suspects the fire was intentionally set.

Fire investigators narrowed in on an area they suspect was the ignition site and will continue to sift through the ashes for evidence.  Reportedly some in the community saw individuals running from the area shortly before the fire was noticed.

 

HFD INVESTIGATORS WORK TO FIND THE EVIDENCE

 

By Friday the fire had consumed approximately 500 acres and continued to burn in a canyon.
