The H2 is closed..... and back open 4 1/2 hours later

The H2 freeway was closed due to an  early morning accident in the south-bound lanes between the Kipapa Bridge and Ka Uka Blvd.   A wrong way driver of a vehicle headed north in the south-bound lanes of H2 collided head on with another vehicle, and a third vehicle hit the center median while trying to avoid the accident.   The wrong way driver died at the scene.  The two other victims were transported to the hospital in critical and serious condition.  Traffic was paralyzed for approximately 4 1/2 hours.

What happens when a freeway is closed:

	The scene of the accident - cleared and back open
