JOE FAHEY
Joe Fahey is the ownerof Peck & Bushel Fruit Company, located near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The
orchard was established in 2010 and contains nearly 7,000 dwarf apple and
cherry trees.
Joe grows all of his
fruit organically. He does not use any synthetically
manufactured chemicals, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides or
genetically modifed products. He does plant flowers and shrubs that attract
native pollinators to enhance the natural fruit tree. The unprecedented spring
temperatures of 2012 provided incentive for Joe to explore a possible
solution to poor cold weather pollination. With help from Dave Hunter at
Crown Bees, he will be experimenting
with the hornfaced mason bee in his orchard this spring.
